About Course

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of roles within the human resources sector. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Human Resources Consultant, Human Resources Advisor and Human Resources Business Partner. 

 

Responsibilities are likely to be determined at a workplace level. Some smaller organisations may require employees to work across all aspects of human resources. In larger organisations, individuals may coordinate a single human resources function.

Our Diploma of Human Resource Management is a nationally recognised VET qualification.

Course Duration

  • 52 weeks (including term breaks)
  • 4 terms (10 weeks per term)

This course consists of 12 units of competency (5 core and 7 elective) delivered across a period of 52 weeks (including 12 weeks of term breaks). Students will complete 800 hours of structured learning (20 hours per week) and are expected to complete 400 hours of unsupervised study and assessment preparation (10 hours per week). The 40 weeks of learning are split into 4 terms of 10 weeks each, with each term covering 3 units of competency.

Course Entry Requirements

  1. English Proficiency Requirements:
    • Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following:
      • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band score below 5.5.
      • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum overall score of 50, and a minimum score of 42 in each of the four skills.
      • Any other English proficiency test deemed equivalent by Opulence College.
  2. Age Requirements:
    • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment.
  3. Academic Requirements:
    • Applicants must have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies): BSBHRM411 Administer performance development processes; BSBHRM412 Support employee and industrial relations; BSBHRM415 Coordinate recruitment and onboarding; and BSBHRM417 Support human resource functions and processes. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to these units, which have been mapped as equivalent; OR
    • Applicants must have two-year equivalent full-time relevant work experience

Assessments

This course will be delivered and assessed through verbal assessment, group discussion, consultation, prescribed textbook reading and online written assessment activities.

Course Outcomes

Students will attain the Diploma of Human Resources Management once all units have been completed at a competent level.

Graduates of our Diploma of Human Resources Management course will gain critical skills and knowledge to be able to perform in a variety of Human Resources roles. These could include:
