Course Description

The Certificate IV in Aging Support reflects the role of individuals who provide specialized care and support to elderly individuals in residential, home, or community settings. Job roles related to this qualification include Aged Care Team Leader, Residential Care Worker, and Program Coordinator.

Our Certificate IV in Aging Support is a nationally recognized VET qualification.

Course Duration

This course consists of 18 units of competency (15 core and 3 electives) delivered across a period of 52 weeks of 4 terms (including 6 weeks of term breaks).

Course Entry Requirements

  1. English Proficiency Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following tests:
    • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Minimum overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band score below 5.5.
    • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): Minimum overall score of 50, with at least 42 in each of the four skills.
    • Any other English proficiency test deemed equivalent by Opulence College.
  2. Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrolment.
  3. Academic Requirements: Applicants must have successfully completed Australian Year 11 or its equivalent.

Note: Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission, as additional factors may be considered during the selection process.

Assessments

  • Theory Assessments will be conducted through Axcelerate
  • Simulation assessment will be conducted in classroom and work placement
